Dealing With Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
|Are you always tired and don’t know why? Chances are that for most of us, it’s simply about bad habits that drain us of our energy. Some people, however, have this thing called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, known sometimes as myalgic encephalomyelitis. This is a neurological illness that exists, with its main feature being flu-like symptoms to the point that one is too tired to do normal day-to-day activities.
At the bodily systems level, myalgic encephalomyelitis is caused by an inflammation of the spinal cord and brain, manifesting itself as pain in the muscles. Unfortunately, we do not know the cause of it, despite many people having it, old and young alike. However, one thing we do know is that this condition can be triggered in some people, usually by exposure to toxins, anaesthetics, infection with viruses, and even vaccinations.
When a person with myalgic encephalomyelitis goes to see a specialist to see what can be done, the health professional typically has to evaluate it with a lot of detail in order to come up with a plan. This makes sense due to our lack of knowledge about it, and the fact that myalgic encephalomyelitis may develop slowly.
How does it affect the sufferer? About a quarter of sufferers are only minimally affected by it, and it does not interfere with their daily activities. Half of them will have a form which affects their work to some extent. The remaining quarter, unfortunately, will be stuck in the home. Due to the complexity of myalgic encephalomyelitis, the severity might also come in phases.
Since myalgic encephalomyelitis is a complex illness, there are many other symptoms associated with it, some of which include insomnia, low blood pressure, dizziness, neuro-cognitive problems, and allergies to sights or sounds, issues with the digestive or urinary system, as well as various aches and pains in the head, joints or muscles. As you can tell, some of these are very general symptoms.
As with most other illnesses, getting a diagnosis earlier in life will result in better outcomes. Since it is difficult to diagnose, the health professional will need to explore it in detail and come up with a plan so that it will not affect your life as much. One thing that is always good is having a strong supportive network of people who do not judge you for having something you did not want. This is of vital importance as it deeply affects your myalgic encephalomyelitis.
Other things you can do if indeed you do suffer from myalgic encephalomyelitis are the usual things that are associated with a healthy lifestyle such as having good mental health, eating well and exercising. On the latter point, however, you should not over-exert yourself. So for example, if you are getting the Granite Fitness Solution, which you definitely should, you do not need to progress to the higher intensities. Just allowing your muscles to stretch will be good enough. May this help you greatly in managing your myalgic encephalomyelitis.
